In March, Republican New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc appeared on a right-wing talk radio show hosted by the leader of a hate group whose members said this past week that George Floyd’s murder was staged. The group also posted a video claiming that Floyd was a gang member.

The show’s host, Diana Ploss, founded the online hate group, dubbed MA 4 Trump, and features members who have frequently posted racist, Islamaphobic and homophobic images on its Facebook page. In one instance, members depicted former First Lady Michelle Obama as a monkey.

In response to the murder of George Floyd last week, MA 4 Trump group members posted a video claiming Floyd was a “porn star and gang member” and claimed Floyd’s death was “staged.”

Along with the lude depiction of former First Lady Michelle Obama, other posts on the MA 4 Trump page have also included images claiming that former President Barack Obama is friends with Iranian government officials and posted graphics spiriting a religious holy war against Islam.

In the radio interview with Ploss on March 21, Bolduc said that he was not a racist for referring to the COVID-19 virus as the “Chinese coronavirus.”

“I’m not a racist person at all,” Bolduc said. “I call this the China coronavirus or the president does, or anybody else does, because it is.”

Bolduc’s use of the slur adds to an already lengthy pattern of courting hate groups in his campaign for election as United States Senator for New Hampshire. Since January 2020, Bolduc has spoken at multiple campaign events for the group “MA 4 Trump” hosted by Ploss and other known hate group organizers such as Scott Presler.

Presler was a senior member of the hate group “Act for America,” which, according to The Southern Poverty Law Center, has grown to be the “largest anti-muslim group in America.”

Bolduc is seeking to unseat U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen for her seat as U.S. Senator of New Hampshire.
